John Power. Scorpio.

BAM:
How long have you been practicing PowerAlign?
Was it what you expected?
JP: It’s been 8 months! My body broke down surfing in March and it started to seem like a trend so I thought enough was enough and searched out Tanya.
It’s been much more than I expected. It’s been great to work from the inside out and tap the mind-body connection.
BAM: What happened for you as you moved through the program? What was the most important piece for you?
JP: As I move through each awareness/alignment my body feels lighter. There have been many ahha moments; the most important was learning to breathe. To think that I have spent 35 years breathing and now I am finally learning to breathe. Wow.

JP: No, I will probably quit as soon I have it mastered....;) Seriously, since my goal is to be healthier at 50 than I was at 30, I think we have some work to do.
Tanya understands that health comes from the inside, fitness is shown on the outside. I have had more people tell me that I look great while I have been training with Tanya, than any point in my life.
BAM: As an ART Massage Therapist, can you provide us some insight on how the PowerAlign System has shifted the way you approach your work?
JP: To look at my body like a lab, and to feel things in my body has helped me understand how other people can’t move. I really love learning to use what we already have and feeling where things aren’t being used. Working with Tanya has really helped me shape a philosophy for what I do.
BAM:
As an extreme athlete and self-proclaimed "adrenaline junkie", have you noticed any significant difference in the way you ride/ski/run.
JP: When I run, I feel more relaxe
d and lighter, with a longer stride. On my bike, I'm climbing mountains like a Bear. I did my first heli-ski trip of the year and I feel amazing.
I feel more athletic than I ever have.
BAM: What do you think were the top three pieces of information that made your riding more efficient?
JP: Breathing, Blade lock, Root lock. Being able to let go and still feel strong has been awesome.
BAM: Have you tried exercise or posture alignment programs in the past? If so, how is the BodyArt approach different?
JP: The BodyArt approach is different in that it focuses on you. Not the text book or the trainer, but you. Tanya nutures my limitations; she takes me right to the edge of them. I always leave a session feeling stronger!
BAM: Do you consider this work valuable for the everyday person or only for those on a specific path?
JP: Working with Tanya has been a tremendously personal experience. I think people that are on any path would love the BodyArt system.
