FULL BODY FOUNDATIONS Tuesday Jul 9th 7-9pm

Good ol-fashioned dance drills!  We will journey throughout the body exploring alignment, posture, technique and rhythm breakdowns in each body part: hips, feet/legs, torso, arms. At the end of the workshop, we’ll have a fun dance combo to play with!

HIPS DON’T LIE  Tues Jul 16th 7-9p

Let’s dive into the motions of the pelvis!  Known as “motion of the ocean”  our hips tell the story of sensuality and fluidity with all of life. We begin with postural alignment and hip-based self care and then move into the dance. From fiery shimmies and poppin hip lifts to serpentine figure 8’s and witchy circles – we’ll explore it all!  At the end of the workshop, we’ll have a fun dance combo to play with!

WINGS OF AN ANGEL  Tues Jul 30th 7-9p

Let’s dive into the expressive language of the arms and hands.  Not all Angels are the same – some are fiercely protective, others are soothing, and then there’s everything in between!  We begin with postural alignment and self care for the shoulders, arms and hands; and then move into the dance. From liquid wave journeys to emotive storytelling and archetypal symbols – we’ll explore a wide range of arm expressions.  At the end of the workshop, we’ll have a fun dance combo to play with!

MOVE FROM THE HEART  Tues Aug 6th 7-9p

Let’s explore the mysterious movements of the torso and belly – motions that initiate from the core of the Self. In energy theory from multiple traditions, the torso holds the true vitality of the self, from this place we access our True Will – our inner fire.  We begin this journey with postural alignment and self care and then move into the dance. From liquid spinal waves and belly rolls to chest circles and figure 8’s – we’ll explore as much as we can handle!  At the end of the workshop, we’ll have a fun dance combo to play with!

"As much as it might scare us, we long to express our soul’s beauty and purpose in the world and we need to feel supported enough to do so. If we’re not welcomed, invited and appreciated, we may withdraw. If embraced, encouraged and given permission, we unlock our hidden treasures."
